Average U.S. gas prices decline for 21 consecutive days Washington (UPI) Jan 31, 2017 - The national average for gasoline prices declined for 21 consecutive days, buoyed by the increase in crude oil production in the United States and lower driving demand, according to retail analysis. The national average for regular unleaded gas is $2.27 a gallon, which is 4 cents lower than one week ago and 5 cents less than a month ago, according to motor club AAA.
